The annual meeting of the Missouri Physiological Society is the ideal venue to meet other MO physiologists and hear about their latest findings. Students have the opportunity to get in touch with established scientists and receive valuable feedback during the poster session. Teaching faculty can connect with like-minded people to discuss the important role of physiology in the classroom and the future career of their students.

This years keynote was addressed by John Thyfault, Ph.D.
John Thyfault is a professor in the Department of Cellular Biology and Physiology and Department of Internal Medicine-Division of Endocrinology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Among other topics, his main research interest is in the role of physical inactivity in chronic disease states including obesity, diabetes, fatty liver disease, and cardiovascular disease.
